Mississippi will host its second annual book festival on Saturday, August 20 on the lawn of the state Capitol in Jackson, MS. The doors will open at 9:00 am and close at 6:30 pm. Last year over 3,700 people attended the event.
This year’s activities will include:

30 + panels
Katy will be there to sign and sell books along with Sam and Leila Lane.
The Mississippi Book Festival will be held on Saturday, August 22 at the Mississippi State Capitol in Jackson.
Events will be held both inside and outside on the grounds throughout the day. Authors from across the state,
including John Grisham, Greg Iles, Bill Ferris and Ellen Gilchrist will be present. Sweetness Follows will have a
booth and Leila Lane will be with Katy to sign and sell books. Food vendors and musical guests will join in
the festivities. This one day event is free and open to the public.

On Tuesday, April 7th, Katy will be the featured speaker at the luncheon held by the Debutante Mothers’ Club of Mississippi.
The event will be held at the Country Club of Jackson. Katy will share the story behind the book and sign and personalize copies of the book.
Celebration Village a Holiday Market will be held Wednesday, October 22nd through Saturday, October 25th in Tupelo, MS. This is an annual fundraiser sponsored by the Celebration
Village Auxiliary on behalf of the Sanctuary Hospice House. Katy will be at the Preview Party on Wednesday night and the following day to sign and sell cookbooks.
On Saturday, December 14th, Sam and Katy will be at Lemuria book store in Banner Hall in Jackson, MS at 1:00 pm to sign books and visit .
Friday, December 6th, Jackson Academy will host its annual Christmas at the PAC.
(Performing Arts Complex) This is a holiday shopping event and will run from
9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Katy and Leila Lane will be there giving out various samples
from the cookbook. They will be selling the cookbook, along with coffee cakes
made by Judy Douglas, Sam’s aunt who lives in Memphis.
First Presbyterian Day School, in Jackson, MS, will host its
39th year of Holiday Potpourri on Friday, October 18th. This
is their main fundraiser and will be held at the home
of Linda and Wirt Yerger at 415 Greenwood Lane in Ridgeland,
MS. The event will be held from 9am until 2pm. This year
the tasting tea will feature two recipes from the cookbook, the
Toffee Butter Cookies and the Rich Chocolate Bundt Cake
with Chocolate Icing. Katy and Leila Lane will be present with
other samples from the cookbook and books that will be
available to be purchased.
The Delta Gamma statewide fall luncheon was held Tuesday,
September 17th at the Fairview Inn in Jackson, MS. Katy
Houston was the featured speaker. The event was well
attended and books were sold and signed following the
On Wednesday, August 7th, Katy will speak at the noon meeting of The Friends of the Library in West Point, MS.
Later that afternoon, she will go to Columbus, MS where she will be interviewed by a reporter at WCBI television station. The segment will be about the cookbook and will air the following morning.
St. Catherine’s Village in Madison, MS will host a coffee on the morning of Thursday, August 15th at 9:30 a.m. Katy will speak about the book and several desserts from the cookbook will be served.
